From Kidnap Ordeal to Motherhood: Woman Welcomes First Child

Plangdes Nelson, a Nigerian woman who was reportedly kidnapped just days before her wedding in September 2025, has announced the birth of her first child. Nelson was reportedly abducted while staying at her brother-in-law's residence in Dong community, Jos North LGA of Plateau State, during her NYSC service. The incident allegedly occurred at night, when assailants broke into the compound and abducted her and another relative. Exactly one year later, on September 14, 2026, Nelson announced the birth of her baby, describing the date as a remarkable turnaround from the fear she experienced a year earlier. She expressed gratitude to God, saying the experience had gone from “tears of fear” to “tears of joy.” She also stated that the mother, father and baby are doing well.
