New Zealand has highlighted two important conditions for foreigners seeking to work in the country’s entertainment industry under the Entertainers Work Visa. The visa is designed for people coming to New Zealand temporarily to work in areas including film, television, music and other entertainment-related productions. Family Members Cannot Be Included. One key condition is that applicants cannot include their partners or dependent children in the same Entertainers Work Visa application. However, family members may apply for their own New Zealand visas based on their relationship with the primary visa holder. Applicants Must Enter Within 12 Months Another important rule concerns the timing of entry. Applicants who receive the visa while outside New Zealand must enter the country within 12 months of the date the visa is issued. For applicants already in New Zealand, the visa becomes valid from the date it is issued. Other Requirements New Zealand Immigration says applicants must have an offer of entertainment work from a promoter, producer or production company. The employer must provide details of the work, its duration and schedule, and agree to cover the applicant’s accommodation, living expenses and return travel costs.
