Mr Macaroni Says He Has Not Stopped Speaking Against Injustice and Oppression

Nigerian skitmaker and activist Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has clarified comments about his recent reduced involvement in political commentary, saying he did not step back because of threats. Mr Macaroni said threats had been a regular part of his public activism since 2020. According to him, his decision to speak less about political issues was instead influenced by frustration over repeatedly raising the same concerns without seeing the level of action he expected. “I haven’t stopped speaking about the Government, Injustice or Oppression because of threats. Threats have been a normal thing since 2020.” He said he remained concerned about what he described as corruption, oppression and what he considers inhumane treatment in Nigeria. Mr Macaroni added that he would continue watching from the sidelines until Nigerians, in his view, became ready to take action. The entertainer also spoke about his personal experiences over the past few years, saying he had gone through difficult periods and was now recovering and finding greater peace and happiness.
