Headline: Phone Dealer Nana Yaw Kyere Found Dead After Allegedly Being Lured to Teshie; Two Suspects Arrested

Nana Yaw Kyere, a mobile phone dealer popularly known as Dinero or Terry, has been found dead in Teshie, Accra, days after he reportedly travelled to the area to meet a woman.

Kyere, who operated around Kwame Nkrumah Circle, reportedly went missing after travelling to Teshie. Before communication with him stopped, he allegedly sent WhatsApp messages to a friend indicating that he had been “set up” and shared his location.

His body was discovered on Thursday, September 24, according to reports. A relative also alleged that there were signs of an attempt to burn the body, although authorities had not publicly established the circumstances surrounding that allegation. His remains were reportedly taken for autopsy. 

Police subsequently arrested two suspects, reportedly including the woman Kyere had gone to meet and a man alleged to have posed as a soldier. Investigators are also examining the circumstances surrounding Kyere's Honda Civic, which was reportedly found at a mechanic's workshop in Teshie after several men allegedly brought it there claiming it had developed a fault.

Reports also indicate that Kyere's friends became suspicious after unusual messages were sent from his phone, including one reportedly stating that he had been “set up.” His location was later deleted from the WhatsApp conversation.

The investigation remains ongoing, and reports about the exact roles of the arrested suspects and other possible individuals should be treated as allegations until established by investigators or a court.

Friends and colleagues held a candlelight vigil for Kyere on September 26, with mourners calling for a thorough investigation into his death.
