Governor Alex Otti commissions 55-room ORIS Signature Hotel in Aba

Aba, Abia — Governor Alex C. Otti yesterday commissioned the new 55-room ORIS Signature Hotel on Okigwe Road, describing the development as a major boost to the city’s hospitality and investment landscape.

Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Otti praised the hotel’s developer, Chief Executive Officer Owelle Greg Okafor, for completing the project in just over two years. “This is a clear demonstration of what is possible when vision, enterprise and a conducive business environment come together,” he said.

The governor said the hotel’s opening is part of a broader turnaround in Aba’s fortunes since his administration took office. “When we assumed office, Aba faced significant challenges, including poor road infrastructure and struggling industries. Today the story is changing, with businesses returning, property values rising, and new investments taking shape,” he stated.

Otti used the occasion to invite investors—especially those who previously relocated from Abia State—as well as prospective investors to return and capitalise on opportunities being created by his administration. He noted that the ORIS Signature Hotel is one of several projects transforming Aba, and pointed to the soon-to-be-completed Radisson Blu Enyimba Hotel as further evidence that the city is becoming a major economic hub.

He also thanked the distinguished guests, friends and well-wishers who attended the event and who continue to support the growth and transformation of Aba and Abia State.

“To Owelle Greg Okafor and the entire ORIS Signature Hotel team, congratulations on this milestone. Together, we will continue to build an Abia where businesses and investments can thrive and opportunities abound,” Governor Otti said.
