IVD’s Latest Social Media Post Amid Blessing CEO’s Reported Loss Sparks Reactions

Nigerian businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has sparked reactions online following his latest social media post amid the reported death of Blessing CEO’s son.

IVD shared a video of himself dancing and enjoying music while encouraging his followers to keep God first. He described God as the greatest and said God never fails before wishing his followers a blessed and fruitful week. 

The timing of the post attracted attention because Blessing CEO, who has been publicly linked romantically to IVD, is currently in custody amid ongoing legal proceedings and has reportedly suffered the loss of one of her sons.

Reports say Blessing CEO has been unable to personally pay her final respects to her son because of her detention. A voice recording attributed to her has also circulated in which she spoke about the loss. The reported cause of death has been linked to an asthma attack, although an independent medical or official confirmation of the cause has not been established in the reports reviewed.

Some social media users questioned why he appeared to be enjoying himself publicly while Blessing CEO was dealing with the reported death of her son.

The controversy therefore centres largely on how the public interpreted the timing and tone of IVD's post, rather than on any statement from IVD explaining his personal response to the reported loss.

Blessing CEO’s Ongoing Legal Situation.

Blessing CEO has been facing separate legal proceedings in Lagos. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned her over allegations connected to a ₦13 million cancer-fundraising controversy, while another case involves an alleged ₦69.15 million property fraud. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Her reported family tragedy has added another layer to the public attention surrounding the case.
