As the goalkeeper walked away from the playing area, a fan repeatedly called out “Cardi B”, apparently referencing viral images and videos that had recently shown Okoye and the rapper together. Okoye did not publicly respond to the remark and continued walking.

Interest in the incident comes after photographs and videos of Okoye and Cardi B together in Milan surfaced online during Milan Fashion Week.

The footage triggered widespread speculation among entertainment and football fans, with some social media users interpreting the appearances as evidence of a romantic relationship.

However, neither Okoye nor Cardi B has publicly confirmed that they are dating. Their appearances together could have other explanations, including friendship, professional connections or shared social circles.

The goalkeeper had already been attracting attention before the Madagascar match, particularly after his delayed arrival at the Super Eagles camp.

Okoye's Late Arrival in Uyo

Okoye arrived in Uyo on Friday morning, September 25, only hours before Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Madagascar.

According to PUNCH, Udinese had requested permission for the goalkeeper to participate in club-related activities, which contributed to his delayed arrival.

Nigeria ultimately defeated Madagascar 2–1, with Stanley Nwabali starting in goal while Okoye was not included in the matchday squad.

The late arrival had already generated criticism among some Nigerian supporters, with the situation receiving additional attention because of the photographs of Okoye alongside Cardi B in Milan.
