Amber Rose Explains Why She No Longer Identifies as a Feminist

American model and television personality Amber Rose has revealed that she no longer identifies as a feminist, saying her views on gender relations have evolved with age and motherhood.

Rose made the remarks while reflecting on how becoming a mother to sons has influenced the way she sees issues affecting both women and men.

According to GistReel, Rose said she continues to support women’s empowerment and “girl power,” but no longer considers herself a feminist because she believes she now has a broader perspective on gender-related issues.

“As I’ve gotten older and now have sons, I’m no longer a feminist. I still believe in girl power, but I see both sides now,” Rose said.

Her latest comments are consistent with remarks she made in March 2025 during an appearance on Club Shay Shay, hosted by Shannon Sharpe.

During that interview, Rose said her decision to distance herself from feminism was influenced by experiences involving women she knew personally. She alleged that some women had lied about pregnancies and abortions in attempts to obtain money from men.

Rose also connected those experiences to her decision to stop her SlutWalk, an event she had previously used to advocate for women's rights and empowerment.

“I saw the dark side of what women can do,” Rose said during the 2025 interview, explaining her decision to stop identifying with feminism.

From Feminist Activism to a Different Perspective

Rose was previously one of the more visible celebrity advocates associated with women's empowerment and body positivity. Her SlutWalk events attracted public attention during the 2010s and were presented as platforms addressing issues including sexual double standards and women's autonomy.

However, her views have shifted publicly in recent years.

Her latest statement does not mean that she has abandoned support for women altogether. Rather, she says she still believes in empowering women while viewing gender issues from what she considers a broader perspective.
