Naira Holds Steady Against Dollar as Exchange Rate Hits ₦1,385 in Parallel Market

The Nigerian naira remained relatively stable against the US dollar on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, with rates showing a relatively narrow gap between the official and parallel markets.
According to the GistReel report, the dollar was quoted at approximately ₦1,324–₦1,330/$ in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
In the parallel market, dealers were reportedly buying the dollar at about ₦1,375 and selling at approximately ₦1,385.
At the reported parallel-market selling rate of ₦1,385/$, buying $100 would cost approximately ₦138,500, while $1,000 would cost about ₦1.385 million.
The difference between the upper end of the reported official range, ₦1,330, and the parallel-market selling rate of ₦1,385 is about ₦55 per dollar.
