Lady Reportedly Quits Nursing School After Mum Demands $400 Weekly to Care for Her Children

A 26-year-old single mother has reportedly dropped out of a two-year nursing programme after her mother allegedly demanded $400 every week to look after her two children while she attended classes.

She Asked Her Mother to Watch the Children

According to the account, the woman asked her mother to care for her two children for the duration of her nursing programme, which was expected to last two years.

The woman reportedly told her mother that she would pay her after becoming a qualified nurse.

The mother allegedly initially agreed, saying that family members should support one another.

However, according to the post, the arrangement changed when the woman actually began school.

The woman's mother reportedly informed her that she would charge $200 per child each week, bringing the total childcare cost to $400 weekly.

The daughter was reportedly surprised because she had understood that the childcare would be provided without payment.

The mother allegedly responded that she was not a free daycare service and that the daughter would have to pay the $400 or make alternative arrangements.

The X user claimed that the woman was earning approximately $760 per week from her CNA job.

If accurate, the proposed $400 weekly childcare bill would have represented more than half of that income.

The woman reportedly left the nursing programme during her second week, allegedly losing a $1,200 school deposit in the process.
