BBNaija Nomy Breaks Silence on Controversial Disqualification, Says Exit Was Unjust

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Nomy has spoken publicly about her controversial exit from the reality show, describing the experience as traumatic and maintaining that she was unjustly disqualified.

Nomy made the remarks during an appearance on the WithChude podcast, where she reflected on her time in the Big Brother Naija house and addressed some of the circumstances surrounding her departure from the programme.

According to the reality star, she believes her removal from the show did not follow the usual disciplinary process she understood to apply to housemates.

“I was unjustly disqualified,” Nomy said, explaining that, in her understanding, housemates normally accumulate three strikes before disqualification.

She claimed that she had only received one strike at the time she was removed from the programme.

“Normally, what makes people leave the house is disqualification, and to get that you need three strikes. I was on one,” she stated.

Nomy also described her experience in the house as deeply difficult, saying it left her traumatised.

“My experiences in the Big Brother house traumatised me,” she said.

Nomy addresses GehGeh and Peller claims.

During the interview, Nomy also responded to discussions surrounding her alleged familiarity with social media personalities GehGeh and Peller.

She insisted that she had never heard of either personality before entering the Big Brother Naija house.

“I don’t know who GehGeh or Peller are, never heard of them before,” she said.

Her comments appear to address questions that emerged around her interactions and knowledge of personalities associated with Nigeria's online entertainment space.

‘I was in enemy territory’

Reflecting on the atmosphere surrounding her time on the show, Nomy portrayed herself as someone who was operating in an environment she considered hostile.

“I was in the enemy territory,” she said.

She also acknowledged the negative perception surrounding her during the season, describing herself as the season's villain while simultaneously insisting that she remained a central figure in the show's storyline.

“Even though I’m the villain of this season, I’m still the main character,” she added.

Claims unprecedented treatment

Nomy further claimed that her departure represented an unusual development in the history of the reality show.

According to her, she was the first Big Brother Naija housemate to have her participation “revoked.”

The claim forms part of her broader argument that the circumstances surrounding her exit differed from the disciplinary process she expected based on how previous housemate departures had occurred.

However, her statements represent Nomy's account of events and her interpretation of the circumstances surrounding her exit. They should therefore be distinguished from independent facts about the show's disciplinary procedures and the specific reasons for her removal.

Her comments are likely to generate further discussion among BBNaija viewers, particularly because her exit had already attracted attention during the current season.

Nomy's latest interview gives viewers a glimpse into how she personally experienced the controversy and why she continues to question the decision that ended her time in the Big Brother Naija house.

The reality star's comments also highlight the wider debate that often surrounds disciplinary decisions on reality television, where viewers may have limited access to the full context behind decisions made by programme organisers.

For Nomy, however, the issue appears far from settled. Her assertion that she was “unjustly disqualified” indicates that she continues to believe her removal did not reflect the disciplinary standard she expected to govern the competition.

As the season continues, her remarks may add another layer to the ongoing conversation around her controversial departure from the show.
