Veteran actor Pete Edochie discusses his health challenges and articulates his preferred manner of passing.

Veteran Nollywood star Pete Edochie has revealed that he is struggling with mobility and intermittent swelling in different parts of his body. He made the disclosure during a visit to Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah at his home in Accra on Thursday. Edochie was in Ghana to launch the Pete Edochie Legacy Project, an initiative celebrating his contributions to African cinema and storytelling.
A video of the meeting circulating online shows the two actors praying together, and Edochie offering financial assistance to Armah. Speaking about his own health, Edochie said walking has become difficult and that he sometimes wakes to find parts of his body swollen before the swelling subsides. “Sitting down here, I am not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover,” he said, adding that his hand had been swollen.
Despite these challenges, Edochie expressed strong faith and acceptance, saying he asks God to take him when the time comes rather than allow him to become a burden to others. He also voiced optimism for Armah’s recovery: “Emma, I believe that you will recover someday, by the grace of God.” The disclosures have prompted concern among fans, many of whom have offered messages of sympathy and prayed for both actors. The visit also highlighted Emmanuel Armah’s prolonged absence from screen work due to ongoing health issues.
