BREAKING: Social Media Personality Jaruma Rushed to National Hospital Abuja for Medical Attention While in Police Custody Over Posts Concerning Seyi Tinubu’s Alleged Girlfriend

Social media personality Hauwa Saidu Mohammed popularly known as Jaruma has been rushed to the National Hospital in Abuja to receive treatment for a breast related issue while in police custody.

Medical emergency

A source close to the issue disclosed that the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) rushed Jaruma to the hospital on Saturday after she fell ill. However, she wasn’t there when the source visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).

“She was rushed to the National Hospital due to a breast related issue because she had been detained for so long. I’m at FCID now but she isn’t there. I’ve just been told that the IPO took her some minutes ago,” the source said.

They called for timely intervention to ensure she receives proper medical attention while in police custody.

Background

Jaruma had been in police custody since Monday after posting statements on social media about a dispute between Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu and one of his girlfriends.

A two-count charge sheet dated October 23, 2026 showed that she had been charged criminally by the Inspector-General of Police under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act (Amended), 2024. It alleged that she used the social media platform TikTok to send abusive messages, false accusations as well as videos about Rayan Ghassan Kamal, Seyi Tinubu’s personal assistant.

However, these allegations haven’t been proven in court and the charge sheet doesn’t name Seyi Tinubu as the complainant nor that he specifically ordered her detention.

Bail controversy

The fact she had been admitted into hospital comes after there was controversy surrounding the conditions set by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja for her administrative bail. The conditions state that she needs two sureties, one being a federal civil servant of Grade Level 15 and above and another being a businessman.

The sureties would need to present identification documents, National Identification Number slips, passport and proof of employment or business. Sources close to the case said these conditions have been difficult to fulfill leaving concerns of how quickly she can be released.

There are growing concerns that she is receiving proper treatment.
