ESDIAC Launches All-in-One Mobile Platform with Lower International Calling Rates

Nigerian tech firm ESDIAC Global Systems has unveiled a complete mobile platform that will reduce costs associated with international calls while boosting connectivity for Nigerians both within and outside the country. This includes Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), eSIM and airtime/data top-ups.

Low Costs

“We wanted to make it easier for people to connect with others at cheaper rates internationally. Because sometimes it can be quite expensive for someone to make international calls. So we’ve created a platform that allows you to make calls to Canada, the UK, the United States, Germany and Australia for as little as ₦13 a minute,” ESDIAC Chief Executive Officer Austin Ugbebor said at a media engagement in Abuja on Friday.

All-In-One

With the use of VoIP, users are able to make calls to standard mobile and landlines. This means that you do not need to make use of the ESDIAC app or have access to the internet for the recipient to be able to receive your call. You will also still be able to use your own number when making calls meaning it’ll be easier for the recipient to recognise who is calling.

Esim

This platform includes an eSIM function for those travelling internationally as you can use your mobile whilst visiting any of the supported countries. Users will also be able to make use of airtime and data top ups.

No Hidden Charges

“We’re going to make sure there are no hidden charges. We won’t charge our subscribers for just making the call. And if you haven’t used up all your credit, it’ll still be there for you,” Ugbebor said.

“If you feel you have been overcharged, we have a customer service you can get in touch with. We’ll refund your money.” ESDIAC is regulated by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Sometimes tariffs can change because of instructions from the regulators.

Positive Development

“This is a positive development for the Nigerian telecom industry,” said Mr Tope Fasua, Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters in the Office of the Vice-President.

“I’ve had experiences whereby I’ve had to pay a lot for an eSIM whilst travelling internationally but it didn’t give me good connectivity throughout all my destinations. So this shows we need better, cheaper connectivity.”

Nigerian-Owned

“We are bringing a complete product to the telecom industry that is completely owned by Nigerians,” said Mr Adoga Ibrahim, ESDIAC Government Liaison Officer. “We’re impressed with the NCC for giving us our licence to operate. We are confident we will be providing quality services.”

“Our main concern is keeping our subscribers personal data safe. We have put measures in place to ensure no one can gain unauthorised access to our customers data,” said Mr Aja Nwaani, Legal Adviser.

“We are committed to following the Nigeria Data Protection Act and regulations. We will not sell or misuse personal data of our subscribers illegally.”

Useful For Travelers

“This will be very useful for travellers as it will help Nigerians to stay in touch with their family and business contacts at cheaper rates,” said Mohammed Sani, Human Resources Representative.
